It is a tradition in western countries society for children to be looked after by their parents, but the requirement of two-job households refers that childcare is often allotted, part of the time to child minders and part of the time to crèches. Most of the western countries have obligatory education and at the time when the child is at school, the school is supposed to act as a loco parent. In case where parents are missing or found dead, or may be unfit to care for their children, state agencies like social services might take on the childcare role. Opulent people who desire the services of experts might delegate the parental role almost completely to nannies.

Today many organizations probably in the developed countries campaign for no cost or subsidized childcare for all, even other such movement for tax breaks and allowances to let parent’s non-finance driven choice. There are many of the free and subsidized childcare programs in the United States that develops Child Development Programs, or the school programs, which hire certified teachers to teach the children while they are at the care. In Australia most child care services are part of the national Quality Assurance system with makes sure that they offer good development programs.

Entire growth of children whether physical as well as mental depends completely on their eating habits. Everybody knows well that children are supposed to eat healthy and nutritional foods. We always try to ensure healthy eating for children. However, you it is sometime difficult to screen your children with lots of enticing, unhealthy and tastier options in the market. Hence for this it is important to provide them with nutritional food which can nourish them even if they take something unhealthy in your absence. If they have healthy options at home they are likely to become healthy eater in future also, as they grow up to become adults.

For making your children habitual of healthy eating it is important to inculcate these habits right from their birth. Once it becomes habit then it becomes easy to follow it. You can do it just be putting good examples before them and by telling them about the benefits of healthy eating for children. However, if your child is negating to eat healthily again and again then better is to try gradually. Stop giving sweets and snack rather replace it with fruits. Try to steer children for healthy eating by giving them variety of fruits so that they could change their taste. Do not try to impose things on children as if you do this then they will become rebellious. So for a while you can allow them to eat what they want while incorporating the healthier options also in their regular diet.

Parents and teachers can and do have an effect on child’s creativity. Creativity may be more influenced by environmental rather than genetic factors. In fact,it is promoted through the maintenance of a playful, jovial atmosphere that allows and supports the unconventional but at the same time distinguishes and elaborates on what is appropriate and useful. It develops when examples of different approaches are analyzed. It is more likely to thrive when adults express the idea that any problem can be worked out.

When the child is slightly older, say around five to seven years of age, one wall of a room could be devoted to the child entirely. It could be left blank for the child to scribble on it, paint ,write poems or draw whatever he/she likes. Let the young one personalize it in any way he/she likes. If the child prefers, paint a story on the wall to fire his/her imagination. At this age, children at present spend their leisure hours playing games on the computer. The time allotted to play these games must be strictly monitored. The child must be encouraged to pick up a book, read it, and even narrate the story. They should be given a topic on which they can draw or create something using their imagination. Encourage letter writing which not only improves communication skills but also helps the child to keep in touch with relatives and friends. Craft items such as painting with wet paints, sticking certain pictures and creating a collage etc can bring out the creative genius in these children while keeping them busy. Board games can be handy when friends and classmates come along. These can be kept within easy reach on open shelves that can be reached by the children. If time permits, this is the right age to introduce the child to an adult game like chess.

Once you have chosen a provider, take your child to meet them. Most providers will wish to meet with you prior to the child being enrolled. Take your child with you to this meeting if possible. This will give them a chance to look around their new environment and meet the person or people who will be caring for them.

The most important thing you can do for your child is to send them off in a positive manner. If you are upset over your separation, they will be to, whereas if you seem confident that all will be well and you will see them at the end of the day they will pick up on that attitude. Remember, it is not uncommon for your child to cry when you leave them. Most children settle in within fifteen minutes of seeing their parents leave. Simply say good-bye and walk out the door-you’ll be able to give them hugs and kisses for being so brave when you come back.

Child care is more than a service that allows parents to work. It is a world that is bound to affect a child’s development in many ways – physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially.

According to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, finding quality child care that is affordable can be challenging. Many parents need inexpensive or cost-free day care where they know their children are safe and are being helped to grow and develop. Parents can now contact their local social service agency (listed in the phone book) for information about government-sponsored programs such as Head Start and Early Head Start and other community programs.

The National Women’s Health Information Center (NWHIC) also recommends taking the following steps to choosing quality child care.

Steps to Choosing Quality Child Care:

* Look. Visit several child care homes or centers. Visit the home or center more than once and stay as long as possible so you can get a good feel for what the care will be like for your child. Continue to visit even after you start using the home or center.

* Listen. Make sure the place is cheerful and not too quiet, which can mean not enough activity. Happy-sounding children mean they are involved and busy.

* Count. Count the number of children in the group and the number of staff members caring for them. The fewer the number of children for each staff member, the more attention your child will get.

* Ask. Adults who care for children need knowledge and experience. Ask about the background and experience of all staff that will have contact with your child in the home or center.

* Be Informed. Find out more about efforts in your community to improve the quality of child care. Ask if the home or center is involved in these activities. Consider getting involved you.

$142.5 Million Funding Boost And New Regulatory College Means Better Care
For Ontario’s Children

SUDBURY, ON, July 12 /CNW/ – The McGuinty government is strengthening
Ontario’s child care system with $142.5 million in funding to sustain 7,000
new licensed spaces and create a first-of-its-kind in Canada regulatory
College of Early Childhood Educators to maintain professional standards of
practice among child care practitioners, Ontario Minister of Children and
Youth Services Mary Anne Chambers announced today.
New funding will provide the City of Sudbury with more than $3 million to
increase wages, address local pressures and sustain 303 additional child care
spaces.
“Our government recognizes the importance of quality, affordable child
care and the need to sustain the significant progress achieved to date,” said
Chambers. “Over the past two years more than 995 licensed child care spaces
have been created in Sudbury. This is helping more parents balance the demands
of work and family, while giving their children access to early childhood
education.”
